Rowdy Penguin Productions is an impressive collection of handcrafted woodworking items, ranging from coasters, bottle openers and candle holders to keepsake boxes, cutting boards and large furniture.

Products are brought to life from domestic and exotic woods, such as walnut, cherry, maple, purpleheart and Bolivian rosewood. Everything is assembled with expert attention to detail and polished with mineral oil for a sleek, professional finish. Items can be special ordered at any time to create the perfect piece for your space or a gift for a loved one!

Rowdy Penguin is proud to be a veteran owned business. Artist and owner David Plance is a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer who has been doing woodworking for over 10 years.

And if David’s woodworking talent wasn’t enough, he is also currently a PhD candidate!

Searching for the perfect housewarming gift or anniversary present? NevMade breathes new life into home basics through a bright palette inspired by the Mid-Century Modern movement and the California Coast.

Sacramento artist Mimi Winters invests her love of mid-century modern design in everything she makes. Beginning with wooden Home Basics that go against the grain, her expanding variety of one-of-a-kind, hand-painted products are certain to spark conversation.

The original offering of bamboo platters has expanded to include planters, picture frames and wooden kitchenware such as chopping boards, with more products on the horizon. Each piece is embellished with acrylic paint in bold colors and geometric designs.

The collection of 12-inch plates provides a great way to display your fruits and veggies for a convenient snack, or use as a conversation starter on the mantle. Products range from $25 for utensil sets, $45 for planters and $50-55 for plates. Have a specific idea in mind for your space or for a gift? Mimi also welcomes custom color requests!

Currently, the line can be found regularly in Northern California stores such as West Elm (Roseville) and The Art Den (Cameron Park), along with Apartment 528 in Chicago, IL.

Visit River City Marketplace on October 8th to find the perfect NevMade original to put your own unique sense of California Cool on display, every day!

Bacon Bibs

For those with beloved fur babies who like to look their best, look no further than Bacon Bibs, a locally-made collection of fun bandanas and bow ties for pups of all sizes, breeds and personalities.

Founded in November 2015 by graphic designers Tina the “Bacon Enthusiast” and Sara the “Mac n’ Cheese Connoisseur,” Bacon Bibs has built quite the fan base of their products that are cut, sewn, hand-printed and packaged with love. They even contribute a portion of proceeds to charity!

They have a wide array of cotton fabric choices, from bright palm trees and hot pink polka dots to classic plaids and rich, bold solids. Our personal favorites are the Sushi and Rock Lobster patterns! Products range from $14.99 for a standard bib to $28.99 for a custom-designed bib with your pet’s name hand-printed on the front.

Perhaps most importantly, every Bacon Bib made is given the stamp of approval by their trusty team of Production Supervisors: Peanut, Brodeo and Desmo. These hard-working pups model new products, while also tackling the more crucial work of digging, chasing sticks & squirrels and enjoying all-you-can-eat treats.

“We would have never dreamed we would receive such overwhelming support and love for our products. Bacon Bibs allows us to have fun and make awesome stuff.”

We’re thrilled to have the Bacon Bibs team join us at River City Marketplace on October 8th. Until then, visit their website to place a custom order for your favorite furry friend and connect with them on Instagram to share images of your awesome Bacon Bibs in action!
